Fire Warden Training Outcomes

Our Fire Warden training course aims to provide those responsible for fire safety within an organisation with all the knowledge they require to help prevent fires and protect people in the event of one.

This course ensures that fire wardens are trained according to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Precautions (workplace) Regulations 1997, and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Completing this course equips fire wardens with comprehensive knowledge in fire safety.

Some key topics that our course covers are:

  • The role and responsibilities of a fire warden.
  • The different types of portable fire extinguisher available.
  • Fire safety duties according to the law.
  • Human behaviour in a fire situation and how to react safely.
  • How to stay calm and competent during an evacuation.
  • The importance of fire evacuation drills.
  • Fire prevention and how to limit the impact of a fire.
  • Fire risk assessments.
  • Once you have passed this course you will receive a certificate that provides formal recognition of your knowledge in fire safety. This proves that you can perform your fire safety duties to national minimum standards.

The skills and knowledge taught in our Fire Warden training course are transferable and many people find that the qualification also improves their employability.

Your role and responsibilities once qualified

After completing Fire Warden training, individuals are equipped with the skills and knowledge they require to help to manage an organisation’s fire safety policy and calmly and confidently perform a fire evacuation.

Key responsibilities that individuals will be able to carry out once they have completed this training session include:

  • Assist with implementing and reviewing fire safety and emergency policies and procedures.
  • Assist with fire risk assessments and implement risk control measures.
  • Promote fire safety awareness within the organisation.
  • Assist with fire evacuation drills.
  • Safely evacuate all work place occupants if the fire alarm sounds.

In the event of a fire, the skills and knowledge this course teaches can help fire wardens to respond calmly and confidently to minimise damage and safely evacuate the building.

A fire outbreak is hazardous to the health and safety of all occupants within a workplace, particularly in health and social care settings where there may be sick or frail people to evacuate. A fire can also be extremely costly and damaging to an organisation, with many never recovering from the event.

Here at CBAT, the Fire Warden training that we run is short, affordable, and can be conveniently completed online. The benefits of investing in professional Fire Warden training should not be overlooked, as well as preventing a potentially devastating fire outbreak, in the event of a fire, a trained and competent fire warden can help to minimise damage to the building and even save lives.

Fire Warden Training

All health and social care organisations have a legal duty to implement and manage policies and procedures that protect patients and staff in the event of a fire.

According to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, organisations should carry out a fire safety risk assessment and have strategies and procedures in place to protect against fire and safely and efficiently evacuate everyone from the building in the event of a fire.

An organisation’s fire management plan and emergency procedures are usually managed and overseen by a designated Fire Warden. At Care Business Associate Training, we run a short, but invaluable, one-day Fire Warden training course that is suitable for anyone who is involved in an organisation’s fire safety policy.

Our team of professional trainers can either deliver our Fire Warden training face-to-face or online in a virtual classroom. Our online training sessions use Zoom video software and advanced online classroom technology to ensure that they are as engaging and interactive as our in-person sessions.

We are the preferred training provider for some of the largest healthcare organisations in the country.
